What's Your Favorite or Most Pleasing View of Windsor Locks?
As we head into the warm summer months, the flags flying from the front porches and stoops on Spring Street seem to snap and wave with more vigor and the red, white and blue colors pop with a crisp vividness.
As I walk or drive east on Spring Street, especially in May, June and July, on that slight crest just before St. Mary's, the flags, the homes, the road and the blue sky perfectly frame the 1891 Montgomery building across the canal. The brick section of the old building seems to quietly observe the Main Street area; the Montgomery buildings comfortably anchor the eastern edge of the town. They also anchor the town's character. For me, it's a pleasing way to see Windsor Locks on a daily basis.
So what's your favorite view of Windsor Locks?
As you walk or drive around town, what physical feature in town is most pleasing to you? It could be a building (private or commercial), a natural feature or a bridge or stretch of railroad tracks. These physical features make up the character of our town. Tell us what your favorite view is: Post it on this blog! If we pull together enough responses and compile them, maybe we can say something about what we want our town to look like in the future.
Have a great June!
